and Tournament Rules
Roster
Requirements
A League Approved roster is required for each team.
USYSA teams are required to bring a roster approved by their
league. Permission to travel forms are only required if you are registered
outside of Region 1. New Jersey
teams are required to bring Permission to Travel Form.
US Club teams are required to bring a printed approved US Club
roster. Permission to travel is not
required.
Medical
Release Forms
All players must have a Medical Release Form. If you do not have a
Medical Release Form, The H.I.T. requires that you use the H.I.T. Medical
Release Form. Players will not be able without a completed medical release
form. The H.I.T. Medical Release Form can be found here.
Hudson Invitational Tournament Rules
All games will be played in accordance with FIFA rules
unless where amended below.
1.
REGISTRATION - Coaches must present rosters, player passes, permission
to travel, H.I.T. medical release forms and all other required registration
material at mandatory registration held the Friday night before the tournament.
Any
team whose first game is at 11 AM
or later may register at the tournament registration table located at the site
where your games are being played on Saturday morning at least one hour prior
to their first game.
Maximum
roster size is eighteen (18) players, fourteen (14) players for U9, U10 and any
U11 Developmental Teams.
REGISTRATION WILL BE HELD FRIDAY,
JULY 16th FROM 6:00 pm UNTIL 9:00 pm.
REGISTRATION WILL BE HELD AT THE
NET IN THE GOLD’S GYM.

ELIGIBILITY - Players may only play for one team per age division. All
players and coaches must have passes. Coaches must have passes available at all
games. Playing with an ineligible player will result in a forfeit of ALL games
PLAYED.
Up
5 Guest Players are allowed per team. A Guest Player Release form, stamped by
the appropriate affiliated League of the player is required, along with Passes
and Medical Release Forms.
*Exceptions
to the number of Guest Players may be granted by the Tournament Committee.
Requests must be made by Friday, July 16th at 12:00 Noon. No requests will be considered after 12 Noon
on Friday, July 16, 2010.

UNIFORMS - Shirts must be numbered and coincide with the team
roster. Duplicate numbers are not allowed. NO jewelry will be allowed. NO casts
of any kind will be allowed. Goalkeepers may wear long pants.Shin guards are
mandatory.
4.
CONDUCT - Players, coaches and spectators are expected to act in a
responsible and respectful manner. Abusive language and dissent will not be
tolerated. Anyone involved in
a fight will be ejected from the tournament. A player or coach receiving a red
card will be ordered off the field and at a minimum sit out the next game. A
coach or player receiving three (3) yellow cards during the tournament will
also at a minimum sit out the next game. Any further carding of a coach or
player previously suspended may result in ejection from the tournament.
Suspended coaches and players are not permitted on the field or sidelines.
Failure to adhere to this rule will result in their
team forfeiting the game, and subject the individual or team to further
disciplinary action.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, INCLUDING BEER ARE PROHIBITED AT
ALL TOURNAMENT FACILITIES.
SMOKING IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT ANY OF THE LOCATIONS. Please
make sure your player’s families know this!
5.
GAME BALLS - Game balls will be provided by the tournament. These Game
Balls are yours to keep.
HOME
TEAM MUST PROVIDE THE GAME BALL FOR EACH MATCH.
For
ages U10 - U12 a size 4 ball will be used. All other
age groups will use a size 5 ball.
6.
FORFEITS - All teams must be ready to play at the scheduled times.
There is no grace period. Teams not ready to play will forfeit, and the
opponent will be awarded a 1-0 win. Any team walking off the field prior to the
end of the game will be disqualified from the remainder of the tournament. The
balance of the games will be forfeits.
All teams and coaches must appear at the scheduled
field and time regardless of conditions unless instructed otherwise by the
Tournament Committee.
7. INCLEMENT WEATHER – Each Site’s Tournament
Coordinator, each Site’s Head Referee and the Tournament Director will
determine all decisions with regard to stoppage of play, postponement of play
and cancellation of play due to inclement weather and/or dangerous field
conditions.
Postponement of play due to dangerous
weather conditions will follow standard FIFA rules.
Any game which has reached HALF TIME,
will be considered complete in the case of dangerous weather and postponement
due to weather. Any games postponed during the first half of play due to
dangerous weather will wait out the standard time allotted before resuming
play.
The Tournament
Committee requires all Team Coaches, Managers and Contacts to update their CELL
PHONE TEXT MESSAGING numbers ON THE REGISTRATION WEBSITE. In the case of
Inclement weather, regular E-mails and Text Messages will go out with updates.
8.
HOME TEAM - The home team is the first team listed for the game. They
will:
a. Change shirts in the event of conflict
b. Attack on the opening kickoff
c. Have choice of sideline
d. Supply the game ball
EACH TEAM AND THEIR SPECTATORS ARE TO
BE ON THE SAME SIDE. HOME TEAM, AND
THEIR SPECTATORS ON ONE SIDE, THE VISITING TEAM, AND THEIR SPECTATORS ON THE
OTHER SIDE UNLESS FIELD CONDITIONS DETERMINE OTHERWISE.
9.
VISITING TEAM - The visiting team is the second team listed for the game.
They will:
a. Have a choice of the side they will defend in the first
half
b. Have the choice of shirt color
10.
GAME LENGTH and NUMBERS ON FIELD
U10
There will be two Twenty five
minute halves with no overtime, and will play 9 v 9.
U11-U19
There will be two thirty
minute halves with no overtime, and will play 11 x 11.
Time
will be kept by the referee. There will be NO STOPPAGE TIME.
Any
playoff games that are tied at the end of regulation time will be decided by
penalty kicks (5 v.
5).
Only players on the field at the end of the
game can participate in penalty kicks.
11.
SUBSTITUTION - Unlimited substitution with the referee’s permission is
allowed
- prior to throw in by either team
- prior to goal kick by either
team
- at the beginning of the second half .
- after a goal by either team
- after an injury, at the
discretion of the referee
Ejected players can not be
substituted.
12.
STANDINGS - For round robin and preliminary rounds the ranking will
be determined by the total number of points earned. The team with the highest
number of points will be ranked first, the second highest second, and so forth.
Points will be earned as follows:
Win = 3 points
Tie = 1 point
Loss = 0 points
If
teams are tied, ties will be broken in the order
listed below.
1. Winner of the head-to-head game.
(If more than two teams are tied, this
Tie Breaker is eliminated.)
2. Highest total goal differential with a maximum of three
(3) per game.
3. Fewest goals against
4. Most Shut Outs
5. Penalty kicks
In case of a three way tie in points the second place
winner is determined by head to head between the two remaining teams.
PASSES AND CREDENTIALS CAN, AND WILL BE CHECKED RANDOMLY DURING
THE TOURNAMENT.
Have
your Player Passes, Coaches Passes and ALL Release forms with you at all times!
Schedules
and rules listed may be changed by the Tournament Committee. The Committee will
have final authority regarding rule interpretation and rule changes.
The
Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide all matters pertaining to the
tournament.
No
appeals will be permitted.
The
East Hudson Youth Soccer League takes no responsibility for injuries resulting from
participation in the tournament.
Under no circumstances will the
Tournament Committee or East Hudson Youth Soccer League be responsible for any
expenses, including tournament fees, incurred by any team due to, but not
limited to, part or whole cancellation of the tournament.
