East Hudson Youth Soccer Names Dimitri Giatrakis

Head Coach / Technical Director

East Hudson Youth Soccer League is pleased to announce a major step forward in the evolution of our league by the appointment of Dimitri Giatrakis to the position of Head Coach / Technical Director effective September 1, 2009.

Coach Giatrakis, a native of Greece, where he played professionally, has been an educator for the past 13 years with the Yorktown School District. He is a USSF "A" License coach who has coached in and directed numerous organizations. Just a few of his previous experiences include 10 years as a Head Coach with the State ODP program where he took the 1986 Boys team to the National finals. He spent the last 6 years there as Technical Director, supervising 36 nationally licensed coaches. He oversaw recruiting and guiding the coaching staff and developing the curriculum for all age groups. He has served as an East Hudson Academy Head Coach since its' inception and very successfully assumed the role of Director of our East Hudson Academy Camps and Training Clinics during its' inaugural 2009 season, hiring and supervising the coaching staff and developing curriculum for each age. He has also trained numerous teams throughout the Hudson Valley and served on the Eastern New York State and USSF Instructional Staffs where he taught both state and national coaching license courses.

In his new position, Coach Dimitri will report to the Board and have responsibility for recruiting, hiring and supervising the coaching staff for all of our 12 or so Academy teams, developing age appropriate curriculums, conducting tryouts, and selecting the most optimal competitions for our youngsters. He will also continue management of our Academy Summer Camp program.
